Check out the rest of the pics of the house show last weekend on Kick Bright Zine!
Phyew. In other news, we have been crazy busy. Record masters are cooking and should be done this weekend… We had to finish up all the pictures and layout for the record art… Had to make a bunch of decisions about everything to do with all the final products (that was fun though)… Gotta get everything over to the pressing plant ASAP to have all the records in time for tour… Gotta make a cassette-exclusive layout and send that over to the Protagonist boys… Gotta pick a single and get it ready for all of your patient little ears… Etc etc etc…
Ya know. The usual.
:)
sometimes i’ll really miss Orlando.
This show was amazing! We were raising money for this summer’s first annual Rock ‘n Roll Camp for Girls and everyone involved had a blast.
We covered:
Bikini Kill “Suck My Left One”
Tacocat “Baby Tooth”
Joan Jett “Bad Reputation”
Le Tigre “Deceptacon”
The Go-Go’s “We Got The Beat”
The Breeders “Saints”
Splendora “Daria Theme Song”
AND IT WAS GLORIOUS.
Vanessa’s gonna be volunteering at the camp this summer organizing the girls into bands, helping with songwriting, structuring practice and a bunch more. It’s gonna be so fun, so if you know of any little ladies (no experience / instruments necessary!) send ‘em our way.

Though I’m Not Dead Yet, You Give Me Heart Attacks
In one week, we’re recording our first LP! Crazy. That picture is from our very first show together at Hoops (RIP) with just a handful of songs, and now we’re finishing up the pre-planning for a full-length record. Any ounce of spare time we may have had this past week has been dedicated to finalizing and perfecting the 11 or 12 tracks that will ultimately end up on your turntable, cassette player and/or MP3 player! Figuring out all the harmonies and melodies and otherwise putting a ton of thought into a cohesive record and what that means to us.
In the past, we always would write new songs and test them out live. We’ve got plenty of scrap songs that have never made it past one or two shows, actually… haha. However this time around we have several that we’ve kept under wraps and not even our local Orlando fans have heard them yet! It’s going to be so fun to share them with everyone. The songs are stuck in our heads to the point where we just want to get them out out out and into your ears as soon as possible!
We’re also super excited about the title of the record and the art, and as soon as the concept becomes reality we’ll be sharing all the information we have in conjunction with our awesome labels, Astro Girl Records from Italy and Protagonist Music out of Arizona. There are even talks of exclusive bonus tracks and packaging, oh my… ;) Hannah Bozenhardt pretty much designs and photographs everything for us (she did our EP layout!) and she’s going to make this thing look gooooooood, we promise.
We’ve really put a lot of ourselves into this process and it’s been a super rewarding experience for us, both as musicians and friends. Our “business lunches” at Hideaway discussing song structure over alfredo fries. (Professional!) Ridiculous memes like these resulting in laugh breaks and practice interruptions. Those Darlins fangirl moments. Listening to records too loud, too slow, too much. Late night drinks with friends at Wally’s. Homeless guys harrassing us at Uncle Lou’s and long drives through empty Florida spaces. Loving our friends’ bands and going to shows. “Self-Destruct” being an option for the album title when three ladies with strong personalities make for sassy moments…
I could go on and on, but you get the picture. We’re three kids that like to play fast, poppy songs and we’re stoked that you like to listen to them. We’re equally as stoked that we get to provide them to you in cool packaging on mediums that we love and feel strongly about. We also just got a cool new gadget to use on long drives and beyond so we’ll be able to keep you updated more and more on our inner workings as we gear up to release this record!
That’s all I’ve got for now.
Stay tuned!

ON THE ROCKS! UNCLE LOU’S!
Super weekend of fun with The Areolas, Beach Day, Thee Wilt Chamberlain, Mind Powers, The Palm Smoochers and Patty Bleu!
On The Rocks in Melbourne was this amazing venue in an old Taco Bell drive-thru building. (Y’all know how much we love our T-Bell!) The walls were covered in chalkboard paint and we had fun out-tagging the Areolas! Muaha. We also sold out of CD’s, tapes and records! Was not anticipating that. Much love to those of you that picked up shirts as well - can’t wait to see those out and about! Thanks to Bubba and the Melbourne crew for a great turnout and a great night!
The next night was Lou’s craziness with a bunch of great bands. Tantrum Dan debuted a new camera with a sweet wide angle lens, and videos from the night can be found here! Thanks to the crowd-surfers and song-singers and everybody else that made the night awesome! We showed the out-of-towners a great time!
We hit Tampa this weekend @ Bricks of Ybor and it’s going to be amazing as always. We’re also beginning to write for a full-length, as well as finishing the recordings for our Astro Girl 7” and (perhaps) a new cassette EP… :D
STAY TUNED!

THANKSGIVING!
Friends! Family! Turkey hats!? (Thanks Amy Gates!)
We had a great holiday. We were even enslaved by the family (something about a Kickstarter?) to play a short set in between food comas and horseshoes. Good times!
Just wanted to post up a quick note to let you know we’ve spruced things up around here. There’s now easier access to our show dates, music and merch links, and we’ll be making more frequent updates as well. We’re getting our rears in gear recording-wise and are even thinking about recording our next few releases ourselves! (Nina’s a wizard on the four-track - check out her latest one-woman-band musical masterpiece here!)
So we hope you guys are doing well and that you’ll come out to one of our shows coming up! We’ve got new tunes to share with you all and think December will be our month.

Taken during our set at Lou’s for The Areolas first show party a bit ago, this is probably the best picture of our band. Ever. Use this as our promo photo from now on, plz.
ALSO! You all better be at the Jacuzzi Boys show on the 3rd of this week @ Will’s in Orlando because our set is going to be recorded live! Twisted Cadence Productions will be sucking our live energy into their computer to shoot out into little songlets that may or may not be released. ;) Better be there!

MIXTAPE!
How rad is the art?! Cool in a Crisis recently posted up a mixtape of Florida bands, and our ode to drunken revelry, “Wasted,” made the cut! It’s a summery mix of all of our Flahrida friends and their silky sounds. So cool!
