On The Rocks in Melbourne was this amazing venue in an old Taco Bell drive-thru building. (Y’all know how much we love our T-Bell!) The walls were covered in chalkboard paint and we had fun out-tagging the Areolas! Muaha. We also sold out of CD’s, tapes and records! Was not anticipating that. Much love to those of you that picked up shirts as well - can’t wait to see those out and about! Thanks to Bubba and the Melbourne crew for a great turnout and a great night!
The next night was Lou’s craziness with a bunch of great bands. Tantrum Dan debuted a new camera with a sweet wide angle lens, and videos from the night can be found here! Thanks to the crowd-surfers and song-singers and everybody else that made the night awesome! We showed the out-of-towners a great time!
We hit Tampa this weekend @ Bricks of Ybor and it’s going to be amazing as always. We’re also beginning to write for a full-length, as well as finishing the recordings for our Astro Girl 7” and (perhaps) a new cassette EP… :D
I have been trying to figure out how to sum up this past week in a Tumblr post, and I think this video does it!
Driving all the way up to Tallnasty to play with the Jacuzzi Boys and Holyringers this past Tuesday was amazing. Playing to all of our friends at Lou’s (as you can see) on Thursday and nearly bringing the house down was amazing! Life as a Wet Nurse right now is pretty amazing! OK, time for new adjectives. But seriously, our friends and new fans (hi!) have been so supportive and awesome. You can tell from all of our faces in that video that we really do have fun and feed off of all your energy. There’s nothing quite like playing to a hometown crowd that knows your songs.
That said (dun da na NAAAA!) - we’re taking up the challenge of booking ourselves a full Florida tour for late summer! Let’s make every show a hometown show! We get excited just thinking about it and can’t wait to share our crazy tunes with the rest of the Sunshine State. If you have any recommendations, horror stories, fun stories, basically anything to share, pop it in our ask box!
Let the milk flow forth.
P.S. Video credit goes to none other than Tantrum Dan! THANK YOU for arriving early (like everyone was supposed to, haha) and staying late for our set. Best video ever.
